I spend a lot of time on the computer for work, and find myself losing track of time quite often. Before I know it, I will be starving and unable to focus any longer. My stomach and brain function are my reminders to eat and drink throughout the day! When my thoughts get fuzzy and my attention wavers, I know that its time for some nutrients. I used to grab a fruit snack, or something quick in sugar to fill the void but not any longer! Those snacks are great, but they are not good for keeping you more full for longer periods of time. Take a look at three easy snacks to bring with you on the go, or to work that will get you through those long workdays in between main meals.

1. Avocado
These are great nutrient dense foods, because you can take them with you to work. Just have a disposable knife on hand and a little lime to squirt overtop and you are set to go. Have Nut Thins on hand for a crunch with it. You will be feeling more level in NO time, and able to get back to work with brain food that will keep you satisfied for longer. They are higher in calories, so if you are worried about the caloric numbers just try eating half!

2. Oatmeal
Full of fiber and a little protein, there is nothing like a hot cup of oatmeal in between your day. I am SUCH a breakfast lover, so I am happy to report this is more than just a carbohydrate. Stay away from Instant Oatmeal, as there is a lot of hidden sugars that are not good for you. Get Old Fashioned oats, or Steel Cut Oats for an optimal experience. Top with nuts and fruit of your choice!

3. Nuts
I am sadly allergic to almonds, but they are AMAZING to have on hand with you in the car or in your desk at work. There is nothing better to stabilize your blood sugar than Almonds. I snack on Pistachios and Raw cashews as an alternative to Almonds, so in general nuts are good to have on hand when you need a boost. You can make a killer mix of nuts and seeds to go with any trail mix for another healthy snack on the go.
